Multi-Ride/Commuter Fares Ticket booklets of ten tickets - good for one passenger to travel one-way or return trip - are available at discounted prices, for most of our destinations.
 
  • A ten-ticket booklet that is
    • valid for 15 days is sold at a 30% discount off our regular fare,
    • valid for 30 days is sold at a 25% discount off our regular fare,
    • valid for 60 days is sold at a 20% discount off our regular fare, or
    • valid for 90 days is sold at a 17.5% discount off our regular fare.
    * In addition to the discounts listed above, and for travel to and from New York City only, Trailways           offers a ten-ticket booklet that is valid for 180 days and sold at a 15% discount off our regular fare.

Military Fares A 10% discount is available to any of our military personnel who are on active duty in the armed forces. A maximum fare of $209.00 round-trip will apply for long distance travel.

Advance-Purchase Fares Discounted fares may also apply for travel to destinations mostly outside of our operating network. These specially discounted fares must be purchased in advance, and any such tickets will be non-refundable. Please call our customer service representatives at (800) 776-7548 to learn more about discounts for travel to and from destinations outside of our operating area.


Half Fare Program

What is the Half Fare Program?  The National Mass Transit Act of 1974, requires a 50% fare discount policy for senior citizens and people with disabilities during our off-peak hours, for certain services supported by the Federal Transit Administration.

Who qualifies for Half Fare?  Citizens age 65 and over, disabled individuals and Medicare cardholders are entitled to ride for half-fare on Trailways fixed route service (as specified below).

How is the Half Fare calculated? The half fare is available from one-way, undiscounted fare only.  It is NOT available on fares for which any other discount applies, such as 10 Trips, Round Trips, etc.

Where is the Half Fare available?  Trailways fixed route service eligible for half-fare during off-peak hours
BETWEEN:

  • Albany and Warrensburg (and intermittent points)
  • Albany and Kingston (and intermittent points)
  • Albany and Newburgh (and intermittent points)
  • Albany and Gloversville (and intermittent points)
  • Kingston and New York (and intermittent points)
  • Kingston and White Plains (and intermittent points)

Half Fares are not available on any other services.

When is the Half Fare available?  Half Fares are not available during peak hours. Peak hours are defined as weekday (Monday-Friday) travel...

             AM:  Beginning Between 4:00AM to 9:00AM

            PM:  Beginning Between 2:30PM to 7:29PM

All other travel in these corridors, including travel on weekends, is Off-Peak.  Half Fare is available.

Proof of Eligibility for Half Fare Ticket:  Passengers must Provide Proof of Eligibility for Half Fare tickets at both time of purchase and time of boarding.  Passengers must be 65 years of age or certified as having a disability in order to receive a ticket at half-fare.

  • Passengers must be able to show proof of age by providing a:
  1. Government Issued Picture ID, such as a Drivers License, or non-drivers ID with date of birth
  2. Medicare Card

If your proof does not include a picture ID, then a Government Issued Picture ID, such as Drivers License, or non-drivers ID must also be presented.

  • Passengers must be able to show proof of a disability benefit under:
  1. Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)
  2. Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  3. Veterans Administration (VA) Disability
  4. Medicare Card

If your proof of disability does not include a picture ID, then a Government Issued Picture ID, such as Drivers License, or non-drivers ID must also be presented.

How to obtain Half Fare ticket:  Half Fare tickets are available from Trailways Ticket Agents upon presentation of suitable proof of eligibility.  Half Fare tickets are not available online.
